mic test

Tonight, our couple friends who are to be wed two weeks from now gave me the missalette. I will be the commentator on their wedding mass. I asked them why they chose me when most of their friends and guests are in the call center industry. I’m telling you, engineering graduates or people with IT jobs like me are likely to be NOT good at this. I hope people won’t expect too much.

the perfect dress

Last Saturday, hubby and I, together with our couple friends, Maniya and Charles, went shopping. No, we weren’t scouting for European cruises. Just simple couple friends hanging out. We didn’t push through with the planned hair treatment. Maniya reminded me that I won’t be allowed to wash my hair after treatment for 3 days, so it is best that I have it on a Friday.

We went on to look for a dress for our friend’s wedding (on August 24). I first tried on 3 dresses. My only concern was to find a dress that would match my silver strappy sandals. Among the three, the choice was a deep purple A-line dress. We opted to have lunch first. We’ll just go back after eating so I could show husband while I’m wearing/fitting it. During lunch, I remember I’ll be the commentator so I needed a rather more formal dress than that purple one. But I figured I’d just wear a studded 2-inch thick bangle, with hoop earrings and my silver sandals, and it would look formal.

But after lunch, the dress has been sold. Geez!

After 2 more hours of fitting dresses, we finally found the perfect sweet-looking knee-length gown. The only catch is, it won’t match my silver sandals. Anyway, I still have 2 weeks to look for the perfect sandals.

(Note: I intentionally didn’t post a picture of the dress. I don’t want to spoil it.) :P

my goal

I noticed that I haven’t scrapped for a while. I have several pictures here. Each has a matching story. Creativity has taken a backseat for months now. I guess I have to set a goal. How about one layout for a week? I can do it on weekends to unwind. Well, let’s see if I can meet that. That’s it for now, I need to browse for affordable reno hotels.

Happy weekend!

It’s all about me

parents club in our company

I was invited to be one of the initial members of a parents club in our company. I accepted the invitation (and forwarded it to hubby hoping he’d join too). There are several proposed activities from one-day events such as bring-your-kids-to-work-day, field trips, parenting seminars and health drives(e.g. vaccination). The organization can also propose projects that may help parents (e.g. day care). The members will have free company logo shirts and jackets. Actually, I’m really looking forward to pushing the day-care idea. I’m pretty sure this is one of the factors this club was formed anyway.

fresh start

I have a friend who works in an IT company. He said he had been applying for a better job online. In fact, he said he had a pending application in YouTube and one TV network’s website. He wanted to move out of his current city. Any city he said just to experience something new. I suggested why not try New York where everything is fast. I bet he won’t get bored. He liked the idea that he’s now inquiring at movers New York, and submitted his resume’ to several IT companies in the city.

Hmm, maybe hubby and I should consider living in that city. My friend had been insisting he’d help us find a place near his place so we could be neighbors. Haha.

hubby’s relaxing time

Hubby’s work this week starts very early in the morning and ends sometime after lunchtime. Consequently, he went home early yesterday and I had to go home alone. When I got home, I envied him all relaxed watching TV. As always, the speakers were full blast and home theater lighting was turned on. According to him, this is the way to watch TV so that you can feel in every part of your body what you are watching. Haha.

August 2008 wallpaper

Noticed how guys see things differently from the way we do?

I showed my laptop to my husband asking him “Dad, did you see my new wallpaper?”
He answered plainly, “Yes, I’ve seen that.”
I raised an eyebrow,”Huh? I just had this wallpaper yesterday.”
He answered, “Oh, I meant I’ve seen those pictures before.”

Geez, so does that mean no matter how pretty a scrap page is, my husband will only see the pictures in it? :D

Oh, you can download this free August wallpaper from the Shabby Princess. Just click on the image below to go to her blog. :)
