SPD $1 sale

While I was researching for home insurance, I was also chatting over at twitter with my online friends.

I once kidded that Twitter has become a shopping hub. This was where I learned of the past two sales I took advantage of. And today, it was posted that Shabby Pickle Designs was having a $1 sale. And so I bought this:

Thanks Alpha for posting this on twitter. ;)

October desktop freebie

Before I maximize my credit card limit, let me stop from window-shopping online. I had been hopping from one online store to another, I almost forgot the October calendar desktop freebie I get every month from the Shabby Princess.

This is Mikee playing with her aunt (my sister). I just thought the pictures captured the fun the two were having that day. Btw, click on the above image to download your free calendar desktop.

passing up on sale

I started digital scrapping two years ago. I wanted to have enough practice before I continue doing paper scrapbooks. That’s because I was so afraid to commit a mistake. It would ruin the nice papers. And I thought it would be much more affordable to do digital than paper. Then last night, I checked one of my favorite scrapbook store. They were having a sale! It was just an hour away till the sale ends. My mind was racing. Am I ready to do paper scrapbooks again? Do I have enough funds on my online account or do I need to get a cash advance to cover for the stuff?

Then I realized I’d get those kits some other time. Perhaps next year, I’m sure the store will have another great sale like this.

a shopaholic learns to budget

My sister is busy preparing for her wedding. It’s just two months away. I always tease her. You see, like my mom, she is known to be a shopaholic. So I kept teasing her if she still manages the wedding budget well or if she had blown it on a shopping spree. I even kidded that she might have to get one of those fast cash payday loans without her fiancée knowing so she could just cover it up. Of course she did not. She said she has learned to stick to the budget. She still wants to have the wedding she has in mind and wouldn’t want to ruin it with just a quick trip to Zara or Kate Spade store.

I have warned her though that there are a lot of unforeseen expenses and she better have enough extra on that day. Better be ready than sorry.

lamps and more

An officemate will be giving me the contact number of a furniture supplier. The furniture pieces are of export quality, affordable and are delivered for free. I am just excited. Just perfect for a penny-pinching wife like me.

Next is to find the perfect lighting fixtures and lamps to match the furniture. I browsed online for table lamps and torchieres. I saw several outstanding lamps over at Farreys.com. You can shop by lighting brand or by lighting application or by style. So it’s so easy to find what you are looking for.

If you are a penny-pincher like me, you may like to browse by price. They have a lot of items under $100. Not only that! Farreys.com also carries ceiling fans, bath products and even kitchen products! Isn’t this site amazing? Now redecorating the house is just a click away.

me and my mom

I’ll admit that I do look like my mom but I’d like to think I am not like her. I believe I am not as shopaholic and impulsive as she is. Nor as nagging. Well, let’s see.

You Are Somewhat Like Your Mom

Believe it or not, you and your mom are pretty darn similar.
It may not seem like it at times, but you and your mom have a lot of common ground.
You and your mom do understand each other well. You may just need to work on communication.
Over time, you’ll probably get closer … especially if you emphasize the things you like about each other.
