card dependent

Yesterday, I saw a former neighbor. I remember helping her in her Communications Job Search. We chatted about our lives and how much people’s lives have changed in our neighborhood. We both were in a hurry but had a chance to talk longer as credit cards in every store at that mall took longer to synchronize. Apparently the staff received a memo the previous day that one credit company (which unfortunately is the card I was using) had some glitch in their system.

Good thing that I carried cash. I realized though that I’ve become accustomed to using credit instead of cash. I just thought it’s safer that way instead of carrying cash. But with what happened, I realized I still need to carry cash.

Well, later that day, I tried using the card for gas. And it worked! It left me thinking, why would that credit company not allow any transaction inside that mall? Intriguing. :P
