my sister’s request

The sister is asking if I can buy her a Long Champ bag in Hong Kong. Unfortunately (for her), I was only able to read her message when we got back from HK. I chose not to turn on my mobile since my line automatically turns on roaming features. I am not expecting any call anyway.

On the other hand, I was able to buy her the ref magnet that she requested. I’m thinking of getting the best wrinkle cream for my mom. That is if I find the time to buy tomorrow. We still have so much in our itinerary. Hmmm, we’ll see.

English please.

Once again, we are faced with the same dilemma. Not all people here in Macau could speak English. We encountered this problem when we were in Hong Kong last year. While the husband tells me one time they were trying to order pizza in Poland with his team mates but gave up eventually as they could not understand each other. You see, I wanted to buy Meclizine that I could take for our ferry ride tomorrow but I was a bit worried that they won’t understand me and give me a medicine for something else, say like, eczema.

Earlier, husband was trying to order food, to go, but they could not understand him waving their hands signifying for him to come in. I asked him why he did not just do the “going out” sign (using your thumbs like you are to hitch hike). He chuckled and challenged me to do it once myself.

No, thanks.

forgetful

Our flight was at 7:30 in the evening, and yet, we were in a hurry to go to the airport at 1pm! Unfortunately, I missed out during our planning that our departure falls on a Wednesday, the day when our car is banned in the streets (according to the color coding scheme). Consequently, I forgot some things like the best vitamins for men obviously for hubby, and daughter’s shorts, which is supposedly part of a cute ensemble. Ensemble no more. Sigh.

no worries

Last December, I missed a period and had been worrying if I was pregnant. Why you might ask when I should be rejoicing. I had too much alcohol that month, that’s why. And for two months (yes, till early this month), instead of checking which is the best prenatal vitamins, I was pushing back the thought that I might be pregnant. Well, for one, I had no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever. And second, one home pregnancy test came negative. So that was comforting.

I had no alcohol intake since my recent period. So I guess, the only thing I’d be worrying next is the financials. Or should I? ;)

the big surprise

Every two weeks, we pay my parents a visit. It’s always good to be “back” home. What surprised me was my mother’s remark when she saw me. She said I look so fat! This shocked me as I have been on a no-rice diet since December. Well, it’s really not a strict weight loss program, it’s just something that I thought of that would have some restrictions on my current diet.

I weighed in, which I don’t do often so I’d notice the difference. And truly, not only that I look fat, I AM fat. Sigh.

So yes, the no-rice diet has been lifted.

found another freebie!

Yesterday, I was admiring an officemate’s shoes. I was surprised when she told me how cheap she got it. Then the other girls joined in the conversation and we ended up talking about the latest shoe we aspire. I had to leave the chitchat as my desire to buy a pair of Stuart Weitzman started to kick in again. I reminded myself that this is not a good time for me to buy one. Not yet as we have two out-of-town trips this quarter.

Anyway, back to digiscrapping. I found another nice free kit. Just click on the image below to go to her blog to get her freebie.

Enjoy! :)

weddings and vacations

Women dream of the perfect wedding. Some have decided on the design, cut and even fabric of their wedding gowns as early as their teenage years. This may sound funny but it’s true. Some fancy a wedding inside the church, while some on a beach.

You got to love those photos of destination weddings on white sand beaches of Riviera Maya. The resorts exude the romance perfect for a beach wedding set-up. The combination of fresh flowers, white sand and the sound of ocean waves contribute to the whole luxurious and elegant layout. What’s more is the food served on their three gourmet restaurants.

Take note that the resorts are not only for weddings. They are perfect for vacations and even have packages designed for families. Check them out now and see what best matches your vacation needs.

it’s a (movie) date!

I realized that it’s been a long time since I last went to a movie house. I sort of miss eating overpriced popcorn and nachos while watching. I miss the coldness and darkness while waiting for a movie to start. I miss even the exit signs, the only thing your eyes can see once the lights went out unexpectedly.

I wonder if “The tooth fairy” movie starring Dwayne Johnson would be funny and worth my time. I’m also a bit intrigued by the “Legion” movie. Hmm, I think both movies are opening on the same date. I’ll leave it to my husband to decide on what movie we are watching. :D

QP freebie… again

For those who are in scrapping hiatus like me, sharing with you what I found while browsing for disability appeal (I found this certain company that was able to help more than 130,000 people very interesting): a quick page!

I honestly think quick pages give us a chance to make our pictures be presented in a very beautiful way without the hassle. Well, they are just perfect for time-constraint scrappers (or shall I say, scrapper-wannabe like me haha). Of course, you can always put more embellishments to add some personal touch.

free dino word art

I am often asked if I want a boy or a girl for our next baby. I’d always say I’d like a boy but of course, would be thrilled just the same if it’s another baby girl. I am just curious how it is to take care of a baby boy. They say they are more adventurous, and rowdy. I also fancy little boy shoes. I wonder would this boy like cars or dinosaurs instead? Would he be amazed at Tonka toy trucks, and dream of being in a 24 hour towing business, and would later decide he just wants to be an architect?

For a time, I got addicted to little boys’ kits like cars, trains and dinosaurs. I kept collecting them even if I won’t be using them, not just yet, I hope. Anyway, I found a nice freebie. So cute.

resolutions

Many have listed their new year’s resolutions. But my question is, why wait for a new year to decide firmly what you want to do or become? Do we really need a start line for us to set our goals? Well, I guess it’s because it’s easier that you imagine you’re starting from scratch. We have this illusion of perfecting the goal, that it is just one straight line, that you won’t encounter any setback.

I’ve started my no-rice diet last December with no target end date. The only goal is have the weight loss show on my face. I don’t intend to look like a skull. I just want my jawline and chin to be more prominent like they used to.

I also intend to declutter, which I started last November but there were some minor setbacks. I wanted to sell textbooks but end up reading them, and started reminiscing.

But the biggest change I want is my perspective. I’ve always thought I am NOT spontaneous but instead realized that I am, and no longer wanted to be. I want to be as prepared as I can be, and would rather spend more time planning than spend time fixing things up.

And quite a contradiction, I’d like to challenge myself to go for what I want and explore what is unknown.

Q: What’s your resolution this year?
A: What resolution? Did you mean how clear and detailed a PHOTO is?
TOINKS!
