Journaling:
You were excited to go to this party. You enjoyed watching the magic show. But after that, you simply got bored and wanted to go home.

done with lab tests.

I just woke up from a 5-hour sleep. I woke up as early as 6am and went back to sleep at 10am. We went to the hospital to have some of my lab tests, which should have been done last Saturday along with my ultrasound and urinalysis. It’s just that I didn’t know that “fasting” is abstinence from liquids as well. So yes, I had to do the “fasting” and skip breakfast on a Saturday morning for the second time now.

While on our way to the lab, inside the elevator there was also a guy with medical computer carts and a doctor with him. The computer monitor was on, and I can see some of the images there. What did I see? Let’s just say that I’m normally not afraid of blood extraction, but when we got out of the elevator, my hands were cold and I was agitated.

The good news is, the nurse just extracted blood only once for these 3 tests:

1. CBC – Complete Blood Count – evaluates red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
2. FBS – Fasting Blood (Sugar) Glucose test – measures blood glucose levels after fasting for 8 hours or so. I honestly thought I have to drink some sort of super sweet syrup, but the nurse told me that’s a different test called OGCT or Oral Glucose Challenge Test used to test Gestational Diabetes.
3. Anti HBS – a test to determine (how much?) antibodies to hepatitis B virus.

And yes, there was nothing to worry about. It was like an insect bite. :D

Yearbook page

Yesterday afternoon, I was surprised that my daughter’s journal was returned to me. The routine is the teacher gives the journal to us on Fridays, and we give it back to her on Mondays. So I called the teacher. Apparently, I missed to read a page where in parents were being reminded of the yearbook page’s deadline… And to my horror, it was yesterday, Monday.

But I couldn’t scrap a page right away because I was swamped with work. I had to finish my shift before getting started. Just imagine how stressful it was for me, trying to finish my work, knowing I had to create a yearbook page for my daughter from scratch!!!

Thankfully, I was able to finish one. The only challenge was to create it in black and white because the yearbook is. For the past year, I scrapped and just desaturated the page. But for this year, I actually used black, white and gray elements and papers.

I didn’t know I can scrap in less than two hours!

So my only problem now is if I can print this in good resolution later before my daughter leaves for school. ;)

can’t miss coffee.

I once tried this diet which restricts one to have sugar in any form for a week. I wasn’t able to stick to it and instead, I just searched for the best fat burner in the market. You see, I always start my day with coffee which obviously has sugar. If I miss my coffee, I’ll have my migraine attack later in the day for sure.

Even while pregnant, I still drink coffee, decaffeinated that is. But my husband is against it. I just remind him the reason behind coffee being prohibited when pregnant. Caffeine is said to be transferred to the baby who will then not get as much sleep as he/she needs. But since it’s decaf, then there’s nothing to worry about. No caffeine, no worries.

home decor and design ideas

I am enjoying when I’m browsing different websites to get inspirations on interior designs and decors. I like to plan what theme would be for each part of our house. I have decided on some things but not everything. I think it would zap most of the excitement if everything has been decided on. I must admit I have some ideas on what wallpaper and designer upholstery fabric I want. But yes, just “I”, not yet “we” so that’s only 50% of the decision for the wallpaper and fabric only, for the living area only. I have one more year to decide, and to enjoy this. Yippee!

just another phase.

One of the most challenges in my teenage life is acne, and how to treat it in such a way that it won’t leave permanent marks on your skin, especially the face. Unfortunately, some acne simply leaves marks without you even touching it. All you can do is rely on acne scar removal products.

Now at this age, I no longer worry about acne. Instead, just about other million things that surround motherhood.

Time flies.

Sometimes I look at my daughter and get surprised how time flies. It was just like yesterday when I first laid eyes on her calling her expecting her to recognize me (only after some hours that I realized she’s just few minutes old and does not know her name yet hahaha) inside the delivery room. Now she’s our senior nursery student who can do some things on her own. Just some more years and I know you’ll approach me to talk about falling in love, adult acne and other physical and emotional changes. I hope and pray you’ll prefer to approach me instead of opening up with your friends. I know you’d think it’s corny but trust me, mothers know best.

rescrapped: are we there yet?

Another old layout that I had to re-scrap because I can not find the original PSD file to edit a bit. OK, I admit I no longer like my old scrapping style. :P

Journaling:
Today you are going to your cousin’s party. You got excited from the moment you saw me preparing your clothes. You were jumping up and down until we stopped. You looked at me, I just told you the car needs gas. You didn’t know what that meant but you just knew it’ll be ok so you went jumping up and down again.

look younger.

I saw on one TV ad that 70% of Filipinos look older than their age. I honestly do not believe that. In my opinion, Asians look younger. It is simply in our makeup. Or sometimes, people say it’s because of the food we eat like steamed veggies and rice.

But like other nationalities, we are encouraged to start using wrinkle creams once we reach the age of 30. So at age 28 or earlier, we started reading about hydroxatone reviews. We have at least two years to decide which to use.

Everybody’s vain, alright.

a tiny cute house.

I am fascinated by the things I find on the web. I sometimes hop from one site to another, jumping from one topic to another. I once chanced upon this very small prefab home. It is so tiny that one can tow it and make it a trailer home. It has everything one needs, a living area, dining area, a kitchen and a bed. But I must say only one person can live comfortably in it. I wonder if this type of houses is covered by any manufactured home insurance.

The small house has that homey feel that I think a trailer van lacks. Why, one can even make it look country style, eclectic or modern. Nice!
