mermaid (turned princess) Dora

More than a month ago, I thought of a plan.

I just wanted a Fairytale (princess) Dora doll. I need a doll with the height same as Barbie’s, and at the same time, I wanted it to be easy-to-wash and kind of waterproof so …a plush is not an option.

But I couldn’t find a nice Fairytale Dora doll that’s within my budget.

When I saw this. It reminded me that she wants a mermaid costume for Trick or Treat (yes something for October and she’s been planning about it since January)

So there, Dora and mermaid in one. I know it’s a winner.
This one floats and swims. :D

I frantically asked my friends where and how to get Mermaid Dora in the fastest way possible. While I was browsing www.bestslimmingpills.org, multitasking, I found the doll on ebay. I have it shipped to an aunt in California, who has a friend who came to Manila few days before the school party.

Mermaid Dora, aside from being the birthday gift, has another role, which is why our daughter gets to meet her only during her school party.

So here she is, during the school party. Tada!

(Yes that’s a doll cake  )

Almost over with June expenses

We are currently in the lookout of cheapest auto insurance as ours just expired. I just realized that the month of June is the time we spend a big chunk of our family budget. Aside from our daughter’s school tuition, our car is scheduled to be registered every June. Plus, my daughter celebrates her birthday in the first week of July and her school sort of expects the kids to celebrate it with her classmates, so it is a bit hard to adjust if I spend out of the budget limit.

Speaking of her classmates, her only girl classmate backed out. I was informed that the family is moving to another city. So there, my daughter goes back to being the princess again. ;)

Singapore Zoo: elephant ride

For one, I know our daughter likes seeing tigers, lions and monkeys… from afar. She starts getting scared when an animal gets too near. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because she was disappointed she missed to dip into the wet play area of the zoo, but she was eager to explore the zoo that day. *wink*

Then she saw some people riding an elephant while we were touring the zoo riding the tram. In my opinion, the elephant looks young and healthy. No need for cholesterol treatments. Hahaha.

We had to get off the tram to grant her simple request, that we ride the elephant too. Surprising, isn’t it?

*This is a photo of the purchased photo. Too lazy to scan it. Photo is worth S$20.

toys overload

My little girl received a lot of beautiful things last Christmas. Of course, like any other kid, she loved the toys above all. But it became confusing for her when her daddy brought out his box cutter, and started opening all her gifts. I saw how excited she was, and couldn’t decide what to play with first.

I must say she spent a lot of time singing on the attached microphone to her battery-operated piano. She also loved playing mommy to her Baby Alive that she had been wishing for.

Funny, one Godfather of hers gave her a small battery-operated horse. Small as in imagine a horse for a barbie. And my daughter tried riding on it!

our little rocker girl!

We went to Toy Kingdom looking for BG’s toy guitar that she needs as props for their Christmas program. I felt like a kid with those new toy collections in the store! I want to buy everything but started to wonder if they accept credit cards today. Well, they usually do, it’s just that the last time I bought toys there, the bank (which is associated to the store, according to the cashier) had a system error.

We chose a nice but cheap toy guitar for the little girl. Just before paying for it, she was playing with a toy piano/organ and looked like she wanted us to buy that instead. I was so glad that BG was behaved, and just listened to mommy telling her that she will be having the toy guitar instead today.

Anyway, sharing a pic of her playing with her toy guitar when we got home.

BG had fun!

Today I wore a sleeveless blouse because I thought we’d be going to an open clubhouse. I didn’t expect any airconditioning, I thought there will be just ceiling fans. Good thing I was wrong. :)

My daughter is not a fan of parties. For one, she’s afraid of mascots. But she can always get by if there are slides, trampoline, or the like in the area. So today, I was so glad to see a mini-carousel and an inflatable at Andie’s birthday party! BG, didn’t want to get inside first. But when I showed her the mini-carousel, she relaxed. Even if she didn’t watch the magic show, she had fun! She had a blast! :D

Happy birthday, Andie! THanks for inviting us. :)

busy with stamping and painting.

BG received a lot of early Christmas gifts from my auntie Dina. I think she was overwhelmed by them that she couldn’t react much. One of them is this huge craft set.

**In this photo, my mom was teasing her, telling her that this gift isn’t for her.

She loves TinkerBell so you could imagine her amazement on the big package. What we did was hid some of them, and wait for her to look for it.

The following morning, while I was busy browsing wholesaleinsurance.net, she approached me, still in her pajamas carrying it, asking if she can open it. I told her, we can open that after she takes her bath. Needless to say, she took her bath in a hurry.

she’s all psyched up.

Last Friday, little BG went to her daddy’s office for some trick or treating. She actually had two costumes to choose from: Raggedy Ann and Tinker Bell.

First I showed her Kathycot’s Olin wearing the costume. She smiled and kept saying “Doll Olin!” Then on Thursday night, while I was putting on my wrinkle cream in front of the mirror, I thought maybe it’s time for BG to try the wig / head dress.

And to my surprise, she willingly put it on and while looking at herself in the mirror, she did this.

BG and her tutu.

I realized we rode mostly attractions for kids when we were in Disneyland. I guess it’s because we were trying to make sure BG enjoyed the trip. But at least, my in-laws were able to ride the Space Mountain. I rode that one back in September and do not intend to ride again ever, so I was a bit worried for the health of my parents-in-law. But then again, I bet the park is equipped with medical kits such as AED so no worries. Haha.

Anyway, I actually got a couple of photos that I’d like to scrap. I’m a huge fan of multiple photo layouts and I know these would make a nice scrap page.

Our little girl was so fond of her tutu. She kept calling herself “Princess Ballet” (instead of a Ballet Princess). :D

BG loves ferry rides

Last Sunday, we went to Macau by Ferry from Hong Kong. It was my first time to ride a ferry for that long, an hour. I got really dizzy. This is the reason why I stay away from water beds and mobile homes. My daughter, on the other hand, had fun while trying to balance herself while the ferry swayed.

Quite oddly but not surprisingly, just when we are taking pictures during the tour, my daughter was no longer in the mood. Hence, the frown on all her photos.

Tsk. tsk.

Active Fun – SM North Edsa: Mommies meetup

The (MBAPs and Bebots) mommy bloggers met up again today at a place where we knew would be fun for our kids, Active Fun located at the 3rd level of SM Annex. We were invited to check out the place, and we are just so glad that they did!

I have no photo!!! Tsk tsk.

You can view some photos of the kids at Joy’s blog.

While the mommies chatted (as always), the kids were having the time of their lives jumping up and down, running here and there, swimming in the pool of balls among others.

My daughter had fun in this trampoline with Sandy who I must say is a high jumper.

She also enjoyed the slide so much. Look at this shot with Margaux.

When I took a break from taking pictures, my daughter (according to the nanny) enjoyed this.

That was surpising, I actually thought she’d be afraid of the balls “showering all over” with a loud whizzing sound.

Visit the place now. Your kid/s will surely enjoy it! Here is the current pricelist:

More photos will be uploaded to my Facebook and Flickr soon. Stay tuned. ;)

glitter tattoo

After going to the mall looking for pond pumps, we went straight to a children’s party this afternoon. BG had not taken her afternoon nap so she was cranky and unresponsive when we got there. Still, she lined up for and chose her glitter tattoo and its colors.

Alas, she fell asleep just when the party started.

Mommy and friends were able to score her some toys anyway which she enjoyed playing at home.
