A simple Christmas wish.

One of my favorite digiscrapping/instascrapping app is the Bubble Frame. Last month, I was surprised to see awesome Halloween-themed digital papers. So I immediately created a layout for photos of my son in his Tigger costume.

But when I checked last week, those papers are no longer among the choices for patterns. But I was happy to see Christmas-themed papers instead.

Found Mikee’s letter to Santa in the morning of December 3rd. (But I told her someone will be giving her the Barbie Princess Popstar that she wants, so wish for something else.)

And on December 7th, I saw another letter. I was surprised and happy that all she wants was a ball. I hope my daughter stay this happy and simple.

Awesome apps for instascrapping on your phone.

I love freebies! Who doesn’t? Haha. I was fortunate to be able to catch Bubble Frame when it was offered free last month. The app is really awesome. A friend told me that the developer is a digiscrapper like us, which explains the very nice patterned papers in the app.

So here’s some sample layouts I made using my phone.

In this layout, I used Bubble Frame only.

Another awesome free app I found is the Vintage Deco. Here’s a layout of my daughter’s fish tail braid.

Beh!

My son learned to look at the camera (phone) at an early age. So I was lucky to have pictures of him directly looking (unlike my daughter who hates the camera so much). And just a month ago, he learned how to stick his tongue out while I’m taking his picture.

Look, he’s having fun with daddy!

Those hurtful words.

As a kid, you’d think parents say awfully “hurtful words” to their kids just to “damage” them forever. It’s too frustrating that the only revenge you can think of is to be successful and prove them wrong. Only when you grow up, you realize that all those “hurtful words” are just some pieces to a huge jigsaw puzzle called your success.

This approach has worked for many, but not all. No matter what approach you want for your child, just never discourage them, and continue to appreciate progress. Push for more. But be careful not to push too hard that it can be mistaken as discouragement.

Her favorite shoes.

I’m always on the lookout for affordable dresses and shoes. For dresses, I’m thinking if we should start looking for a suking mananahi as she is now in that awkward stage, too big for children’s wear but too small for teens’ wear.

For shoes however, I’m so glad that Sugarkids carries a lot of super nice shoes for little girls. Just like this one pair that is my daughter’s favorite, she chooses to wear it whenever we go out.

Congee.

They say if you re-heat food, they become tastier. I agree!
When we had left over arroz caldo (Chinese congee), the kids simply love it.
But this one, no longer having chicken nor egg, was simply “lugaw”
(plain congee).

Digiscrapping on your iPhone.

Scrapbook-making is not for everyone. I gave up on paper scrapbooks a long time ago. Things got busier so I switched to digital using Photoshop. I was able to make a couple of photo books out of them. But schedules got more hectic, so now, I resorted to creating my layouts on the iPhone, and posting it on Instagram.

So I’m sharing how to digiscrap photos on your iPhone using free apps. I like to keep them clean, hence, the white background. But of course, you may experiment on the background when creating layout on your iPhone or iPod/iPad.

First off, the tools.

For filters or effects, I use the following:
1. Instagram – I turn off the 3G and wifi so the photo won’t be really posted (failed), but photo will still be saved on your album.
2. LemeLeme and Leme Cam
3. PopBooth
4. HeartBooth
5. DMD

For photo editing, including texts, I use the following:
1. PhotoEditor (I used to have SnapSeed on the iPad, I got it when it was free, but when I synced it with my iPhone, it was gone.)
2. FotoRUs
3. Bokehful
4. Tweegram (has some nicebackgrounds for your texts)
5. Textgram (has some nicebackgrounds for your texts)
6. Phonto

For frames, I use the following:
1. Frametastic (My current fave because I like rounded corners. They also have filters.)
2. Pic Stitch
3. PhotoComic (I used to have HalfTone which I also got when it was free, also gone when iPad was sync with iPhone. Tsk.)
4. Fuzel
5. InstaCollage
6. FrameMagic (I’ve just downloaded this. Looks promising.)

Stickers:
1. Labelbox (labels including dymo tapes)
2. LabelDispenser (dymo tapes, has black, red and blue; text color of which you can customize. nice!)
3. Snapeee (very cute stickers, and if you’re into printed frames, nice too.)
4. LINE camera
5. Smile Photo

Patterned paper:
1. Red Stamp – is an app to create invitations, they have nice patterns.

I’ve prepared a visual tutorial.

There! I hope I’ve given you enough tips for you to get started. Please come back if you have tips on your own and share it to me.

After some practice, I decided to re-scrap this page (still using iphone) for printing purposes.
