At around 7pm this evening, husband and I thought we should have a movie date and watch “Alice in Wonderland” in 3D. So we headed to the nearest mall but were disappointed but not so surprised to see that tickets were all sold out two hours before its showing time. We roam around a bit longer, looked for custom mugs at a gift shop, while trying to decide if we would still watch the movie in a regular cinema, not in 3D.

But it wouldn’t be as much fun. So the movie date turned into a spa date. Not so bad as we were able to try out another spa near our place. And I think we have found a new favorite. It’s a lot cleaner than our previous favorite spa. The only disadvantage that I could think of is the smell. The smell of the scented candles and oils were just too strong, it clogged my nose. I’m pretty sure if I go there with a migraine, things would just get worse for me.

I love travelling with the husband and the daughter. Without these two teddy bears in tow, it felt like I left part of myself when I went on vacation with my mom and sister. I must admit though, that when travelling with others, I can bring anything that I want, like a tripod for example.

With my daughter, there’s always a need to bring her stroller especially to countries that entail long walks like what we did in Hong Kong. Although this baby jogger city mini is a big help because it’s lightweight yet sturdy.

If you ask me, a tripod is way lighter than a stroller. But I would rather have camera shake than be tired and stressed from carrying around a whiny toddler.

The down side of preparing for a family trip too early is losing the interest for the trip altogether just few days before it. I’m not sure if I’m just stressed or I really just find our itinerary not enough to be both fun and relaxing. I just thought if we really want to have fun, it would be very tiring. Or if we want it to be relaxing, then we should expect boring.

I should start packing our things. I’ll throw in some lipstick, proactiv solution, and a nice dress in my luggage. That could keep me excited, I guess.

Or maybe, it’s just time of the month.

Should I keep trying to lose weight or should I accept my current weight and start buying clothes in another size? Hahaha. This may sound funny, but I’m sure a lot of women can relate to my predicament. Should I resort to weight loss products?

Well, I haven’t updated my wardrobe this quarter yet. So maybe, it’s the best time to buy but still, I can’t help but wonder if, for some luck, I’d still be able to go back to my ideal size.

Ok, maybe, I should buy shoes!

A high school friend initially planned on taking her LSAT review abroad, but opted to review online and just apply for her visa after passing her LSAT. Good decision, as her visa was approved and she is now enrolled in a prestigious law school abroad.

Like she said, you can have your LSAT prep at the convenience of your own home, during your free time at your own pace. Amazing how the internet could make dreams so much easier to reach.

Many moms, like me, would like to earn extra income at home to help augment the family budget. Lately, I’m thinking of learning how to make bracelets. I realized I like bracelets and bangles, so why not try making some?

Speaking of making bracelets, I wonder if it’s “fine” for one to re-make one’s Dzi bracelet. I wonder if it’s unlucky or just fine to cut it so as to use another thread and put a bracelet lock. This is to avoid the bracelet to tear on its own making its beads fall on the ground, which is said to be unlucky.

One of the trivia (or maybe we can just call it information that I missed out when I was still in school haha) that I learned when we went to the Croco Loco is to distinguish a crocodile from the alligator. That crocodiles have pointy snout while the alligators have rounded ones. But for us, simple people, this little info is not much of a help as we all know, both are dangerous.

I suddenly remember a shirt of one wild animal rescuer that says “I catch wild animals for a living. If you see me running, try to catch up.” Witty but wouldn’t you take his advice seriously?

Savannah is the part of the zoobic safari tour where your car or the train-like zoo vehicle passes by the animals roaming around such as ostriches, goats, and sheep.

As their website says, get a peck on the cheek, which sounds like fun, really. But when you’re there, it kind of freaks you out. It felt like my head had started to be filled with fear. That’s how I felt. I tried to calm down and had small talk with my sisters-in-law. Of all, we started talking about best acne treatment. Plus, I was staying in the middle of the “train” just so that I don’t get accidentally kissed by the ostriches.

Are you brave enough?

The biggest attraction for the Zoobic Safari is the Tiger Safari where one gets to ride a close caged jeepney that goes near the tigers who roam around. One has an option to buy chicken meat for only P200 and someone from the zoo will feed it to the tiger while you to watch.

Afterwhich, the tour goes on to the “close encounter” wherein one can go near the tigers in cages.

Before I read these acne product reviews, let me just share with you one of the photos we took of the other jeepney and a tiger.

I’m not sure why but when our jeepney stops near a tiger, the tiger walks away.

Today, I went to the office instead of working from home. I attended a parenting seminar that the company gave. Well, I am a member of the club who organized (but not one of those who helped haha) so I thought I should support by attending.

I learned some important things. One parent asked what the (behavioral and developmental specialist) doctor’s take on allowing the kids to play video games like the xbox 360.

The doctor shared that playing video games is very much like watching tv. It is ok if done in moderation. She advised the parents to encourage other activities that promote multiple attention, like playing in the field, or helping in the kitchen. She advised that parents allow their kids to play their favorite video games on Friday nights and Saturdays, leaving Sundays for family time.

It is also recommendable that the kid plays with a parent or a sibling. This could serve as bonding time, as well. Although, she said that it’s more ideal to play for less than 3 hours. This, only if the child has no behavioral or developmental concerns.

She strongly discourages it though if the child doesn’t talk much, or hardly interacts with other people.

Last Saturday, the last day of the previous lunar year, I went to SM the Block to look for Dolan Designs lightings, and remembered there’s a World of Feng Shui store there. I went in to ask for the Good Income Talisman, but was told that it is out of stock. Apparently, a lot of people bought it for, well what else, better income. So I checked their Dzi bracelets. I initially planned on buying the 5 eyed Dzi bracelet but found out that it was specific for career advancement luck. Then the saleslady suggested the 9 eyed Dzi bracelet which she said is the general luck bracelet. So I gave in. I also bought the dragon’s friends and allies bracelet (dragon/monkey/rat) because not only it is supposedly lucky, it was cute! Unfortunately, later that night, the bracelet ripped and the pieces got broken.

Hmm, I wonder if that’s bad luck. But somebody told me, that since it happened BEFORE the new lunar year (it was the lunar new year’s eve, anyway) it would be like I’m leaving the bad luck behind.

The sister is asking if I can buy her a Long Champ bag in Hong Kong. Unfortunately (for her), I was only able to read her message when we got back from HK. I chose not to turn on my mobile since my line automatically turns on roaming features. I am not expecting any call anyway.

On the other hand, I was able to buy her the ref magnet that she requested. I’m thinking of getting the best wrinkle cream for my mom. That is if I find the time to buy tomorrow. We still have so much in our itinerary. Hmmm, we’ll see.
