firmer arms

As I was looking at myself in the mirror while putting on my actifade eye cream, I wondered how come my arms are fat while my legs are firm. Well, at least not both parts are fat. :lol: But seriously, I think the legs I got from years of dancing and brisk walking. While my arms, hmmm, I honestly think carrying a toddler contributed a lot to its massiveness. Hahaha. When I thought that would make my arms trimmer. Tsk tsk. I’m thinking if I should start going back to the gym just for trimming the arms. Or I could just buy those nice pink dumbells. Then I could start wearing sleeveless blouses again. (So now you know why I want trimmer arms haha)

Anybody knows how to have arms like that of Anna Paquin’s without lifting a finger? :mrgreen:

1-2-3-4!

Four!

Our darling daughter turned four!

Last Sunday, while everyone else in the US were celebrating their Independence day, we were busy cooking in the kitchen. I kept “tasting” the food I ended up feeling full before the party started. Too bad I was supposed to be on a low-sugar diet, because the previous week I was trying to learn more about the connection between pimples at my age and sweets.

Relatives and some friends came to celebrate and the little girl was happy. She had no idea what/who was waiting for her the following day in her school party ;) ;) ;)

Almost over with June expenses

We are currently in the lookout of cheapest auto insurance as ours just expired. I just realized that the month of June is the time we spend a big chunk of our family budget. Aside from our daughter’s school tuition, our car is scheduled to be registered every June. Plus, my daughter celebrates her birthday in the first week of July and her school sort of expects the kids to celebrate it with her classmates, so it is a bit hard to adjust if I spend out of the budget limit.

Speaking of her classmates, her only girl classmate backed out. I was informed that the family is moving to another city. So there, my daughter goes back to being the princess again. ;)

Fairytale or Fiesta Dora?

I’m a bit sleepy now as the sleeping pills are starting to kick in. But let me just share something that I haven’t done for a loooooooooong time.

In less than two weeks, our daughter will be celebrating her birthday in school. The doll that will be used for her cake is currently on a plane on its way here in Manila. And I haven’t checked how much a Diego (cousin of Dora the Explorer) giveaway costs. I have to look for Diego instead of Dora because she got more boys than girls for classmates. She got one girl classmate. So yes, I’ve done nothing much… until today. :mrgreen:

Today, using some of my old collection, I was able to scrap an invitation for her classmates. Yay!

Largely influenced by a recent workshop, I was supposed to design a fairytale themed invite but ended up with a Fiesta Dora. :lol:

affordable car care

I was computing our expenses, and trying to figure if we are still on track with our budget. With all the expenses, expected or not, I think we should consider getting services, such as oil change and tune up from another repair shop.

My husband mentioned about Houston auto repair which was mentioned to him by one of his friends. According to this friend, they are good in car care that even one Acura Integra still looks good and works just fine. Amazing, right?

hobby: wishful thinking

For a couple of weeks now I’ve been *wishful* thinking I am pregnant. Almost every month, I get this feeling a lot, almost wanting some prenatal vitamins. Just kidding. But yes, I do get that illusion a lot. :lol: Then reality kicks in and I get frustrated. ;)

Anyway, the good news is I was able to shed off 4 more pounds even if I didn’t change my diet much. I hope to shed some more without having to work out. Yeah right. Wishful thinking again. :p

cheat day

Late this afternoon, I started craving for fishballs, but our “fishball buddies” are still out. My daughter and I were so sleepy so we doze off supposedly for a while, but ended up sleeping for 2 hours. When we woke up, it was too late for fishballs. Our “fishball buddies” asked us where else we want to go. We decided we want to hang out at Technohub for Time Zone and dinner.

The little girl wanted a bucket of fries from KFC so the whole gang decided to just have 2 bucket meals! After dinner, I was just too full I kept obsessing about the idea of best fat burning supplements. And even while eating, we were thinking of having a beer and pizza 3 hours later that night. Hahaha. We so love to eat!

got it!

Earlier today, we went to my sister’s (and brother-in-law’s) house for the first time. On the way there, I suddenly thought I should have brought a house-warming gift! Yikes! I kept thinking if we should drop by a mall to buy something. Although my sister loves acne body washes, I don’t think that would count as a house-warming gift. Well anyway, husband an I decided we just give them something that is not bought in a rush.

While showing their house, I noticed that her hamper doesn’t match the rest of their furniture and wall, so there, I know what to get them! :lol:

working late

While prices kept going up, including medical expenses, you hope and pray no one in the family gets sick. Ever. Since, that is almost impossible, it’s always good to have health insurance. Good thing the company where my husband and I work provides health insurance.

But for those who, like own a business may, of course, opt to buy their own health insurance. Just look for the best yet cheap insurance out there.

Sometimes I wonder why people who work in call centers have much higher medical coverage than people who work in, say, IT companies. Are people working in odd hours considered more prone to sickness? Hmm, sounds logical.

age is just a number

Not really sure if it’s just my imagination or what I am seeing are really age spots. Sure, I’ll have those spots but not as early as now. So I asked my husband who said he doesn’t see anything. Good thing I have a man in the house who instinctively know the safe answer. :lol:

~~~
I badly need a haircut. My long dull hair gives the impression that I’m too old or busy to care for how I look. Wait, skin and hair making me look old? Fine, let’s just say the age is starting to show. Oops! Too blessed to be bothered. ;)
Using the web to find craft projects
This is a guest post by Veronica Miller
One of my favorite ways to use my hughesnet tennessee internet service with my kids is to search for different craft projects and recipes that we can try out together. I enjoy looking through different do it yourself projects and dessert recipes with my kids and allowing them to pick out what they would like to make or try out together.
I started this process with my oldest daughter when we were planning my youngest son’s birthday party. We logged onto our hughes net internet service together and looked for recipes and designs for his birthday cake. She picked out a type of cake and then decided on a specific design for cupcakes that she thought her brother would love. We then set out to create what we had seen on our hughes net satellite. Not only did the party turn out great, we got to spend a good deal of time together, bonding.
Looking through different kids projects together on craftsforkids.com, allowed me to see her different tastes and preferences. It’s a great way for us to spend a good deal of time together, and also gives us something to work on and complete together. Looking through the different pages of projects and craft ideas lets me see how creative she is and what type of styles she likes. It also gives me a chance to let her make decisions on her own.
travel photobooks
My sister suddenly chatted with me. I thought she’s going to ask me about life insurance leads again. She was asking me about photobooks. She admired her wedding photobook so much she wanted to do photobooks of all their trips out of the country. Their trips meaning her trips to China, Hong Kong or US, and her husband’s trips to Canada and the US. Yes, they haven’t travelled together out of the country yet. They, however, were able to travel together to the best beaches in the country. So I suggested this quick page I saw online, downloadable for free.
